58 school classes participated in the Energy Challenge 2018

Implementing energy tips in everyday life, generating energy with your own muscle power and thus reducing energy consumption together - around 180,000 people visited the Energy Challenge in Basel, Frauenfeld, Locarno, Lausanne and Zurich. The 1179 pupils from 58 classes who took part in the class competition in the Energy Village at muba, Comptoir and Züspa also took part. The aim: to save energy together! The challenge was also accepted by the pupils in sporting competitions and with various myclimate games: Who can buy the most climate-friendly Znüni? How much electricity can be generated in two minutes by cycling? Who can build the tallest tower from waste or can recycle under time pressure? How can complex climate tips be explained simply in a photo?

The 58 participating classes at Energy Challenge 2018 gave their all and achieved a lot! In addition to the pedalled bicycle electricity, recycling records and creative energy-saving tips, a total of 5588 energy promises were collected from visitors to the trade fairs!

Energy Challenge with EnergieSchweiz

The Energy Challenge is a national campaign by Energie Schweiz and the Swiss Federal Office of Energy and revolves around the topics of energy efficiency and renewable energies. Everyone is needed to save energy and shape a more sustainable future together. To achieve this goal, EnergieSchweiz is taking up the challenge with the help of a family of four: for the entire duration of the Energy Challenge 2018, the family receives tips and tricks on renewable energies and energy efficiency in everyday life and is thus encouraged to consume twenty percent less energy.

EnergieSchweiz is a long-standing partner of myclimate education. Programmes such as the «Pionniers de l’énergie et du climat» (Energy and Climate Pioneers) or the «Atelier de l’énergie et du climat» (Energy and Climate Workshop) were made possible in their current form by EnergieSchweiz and helped to shape the content.
